Why should I register to use the website? A large amount of the website will only be available to registered users for security reasons. Does it cost anything to register? No. How long does it take to register? Only a couple of minutes, however all registrations need to be approved by an administrator and this may take a few hours before you are allowed access. What content is only available to registered users? Programmes (including details of meeting places/times), Events Calendar, Members List, Leaders details, Letters, FormsĀ and any information which we may consider would compromise the safety of the young people should it be publicly available. Who should register? All YOUTH MEMBERS should register (Scouts and Cubs). We understand it is not practical in most cases to have our Beavers as registered users however parents should register themselves using the Beaver's name. Parents wishing to have access should register a seperate account (recommended so that you are able to keep up to date with news and events). Why are you asking my son/daughter to register? Online booking will now be available for most activities/events. This can ONLY be done in the Youth Member's name. Bookings will not be accepted if done in the parent's name. We would like to encourage greater interaction between our youth members. The members list allows registered users to add each other as friends and send messages. There will also be occasional competitions which will only be open to registered youth members. Will I still receive paper letters and forms from you? Yes, however in some cases letters and forms will ONLY be available on the website. These may include kit lists and booking forms for County activities. If you require a paper copy you will either need to download it from the website or request it from a Leader. Will I receive lots of emails from you once I've registered? No. We already have an email address for most members anyway so you should see little or no increase in the amount of emails you receive from us. Will you share my details with any other organisation/company? Definitely not! |
