On the 20th January the Scouts doing their Scout Award set out for Pateley Bridge. Most normal people would have stayed in bed, especially after looking out of the window. The rain was coming down in sheets and as we neared the starting place the rain slowed and just as we entered the car park it stopped. We set off from Lofthouse thinking that we might just arrive in Pateley dry, but only two minutes after setting off we got soaked.

This is the route we took:

Starting at Lofthouse car park, follow minor road southeast to junction of Nidderdale Way and minor road. Follow Nidderdale Way still going Southeast to bridge over river. Cross over road and follow Nidderdale Way to Bouthwaite. Go through the farm and carry on once again down the Nidderdale Way going straight into Pateley car park
