On Friday 20th June the 14 year old Scouts plus Clive and Shirley (A parent wanting to do something different) celebrated the start of the longest day by watching the sun rise over the Yorkshire Dales
Leaving our cars at 1am, we walked to the top of Pen-T-Ghent, arriving at 2:30am. Here we had a brew up followed by a barbecue of beef burgers and toasted marshmallows
Getting into our sleeping bags we waited for the cloud to clear and the sun to rise and miracle of miracles it did as the photos show
We now walked towards the rising sun and on to the summit of Plover Hill before returning to Horton in Ribblesdale for breakfast and pint mugs of tea at the Pen-Y-Ghent cafe
